Vineeta Agarwala, MD, PhD, is a General Partner at Andreessen Horowitz where she leads investments for the firm’s bio fund across therapeutics, diagnostics, and digital health, with a focus on companies that are leveraging unique datasets to improve drug development and patient care delivery. She also serves on the board of BigHat Biosciences.
Prior to joining a16z, Vineeta has held many different roles in the healthcare space: as a physician taking care of patients; as an operator at tech-driven healthcare companies; and most recently as a venture investor on the GV (Google Ventures) life sciences team, focused on biotech companies with a data-driven approach. Previously, she was an early data scientist at Kyruus; a management consultant for biotech, pharmaceutical, and medical device clients at McKinsey & Co; and a Director of Product Management at Flatiron Health, where she led the company’s partnership with Foundation Medicine to integrate real-world clinical and genomic data into national-scale database products to accelerate drug development and research in oncology. She has collaborated with academic researchers at Cold Spring Harbor Laboratory, Lawrence Livermore National Laboratory, and the Broad Institute, where she did graduate work in computational biology and human genetics.
Vineeta holds a B.S. in biophysics from Stanford University, and MD and PhD degrees from Harvard Medical School / MIT. She completed her clinical residency at Stanford, and is board certified in internal medicine. Michael is co-founder and CEO of Pearl Health. Michael served as an early employee and Vice President at Oscar Health, where he built their sales and network functions. He managed the company’s largest P&L at +$2.5B before helping take the company public with its IPO.
Prior to Oscar, Michael worked for Bridgewater Associates in the company’s Research, Client Service, and Recruiting departments. While at Bridgewater, he was the Head of Research Analytics where he reported to the CEO and Ray Dalio. In 2009 he successfully sold DormAid, a college service company, which he launched and ran while he was a student at Harvard.
He is the recipient of Columbia’s Feldberg Fellowship, where he received his M.B.A. He received his A.B. from Harvard College. In 2024 he was selected as a Presidential Leadership Scholar.

Scott Kupor is an investing partner focused on growth-stage companies building in the bio and healthcare industries, manages the firm’s investor relations team, and is responsible for the firm’s growth initiatives.
Scott was the first employee at Andreessen Horowitz and managed the firm’s growth from $300 million in AUM to more than $30 billion. Prior to joining the firm, Scott worked as vice president and general manager of software-as-a-service at Hewlett Packard. Before that, he held numerous executive management positions at Opsware, including senior vice president of global field operations, vice president of financial planning and vice president of corporate development. Prior to Opsware, Scott represented software companies in both financing and mergers and acquisitions transactions at Credit Suisse First Boston and Lehman Brothers.
Scott is the author of the Wall Street Journal bestselling book, Secrets of Sand Hill Road: Venture Capital and How to Get It, and serves on the boards of Cedar, Headway, Foursquare, Labster, Ultima, and SnapLogic. Kevin Ryan is one of the leading internet entrepreneurs and investors in New York. Alongside AlleyCorp, he co-founded MongoDB, Business Insider, Gilt Groupe, Zola, and Nomad Health, and continues to found new companies with AlleyCorp every year. Collectively, AlleyCorp companies have raised more than $2B in venture capital and employ thousands of people in New York City and beyond. On the investment side, AlleyCorp is one of the most active early stage funds in New York.

Gabriel is Chief Operating and Compliance Officer at Pearl Health. He was previously a leader on the Product team at Centivo. While there, he led market launches in New York, New Jersey, Connecticut, Florida and Michigan, in partnership with 14 regional health systems.
Prior to Centivo, Gabriel was an early employee at Oscar Health Insurance, where he served in a number of roles including Director of Product Operations, Chief of Staff, Interim Head of Marketing and in a Special Projects role on the Data Analytics team.
Gabriel received his A.B. in Philosophy from Harvard University. He wrote his honors thesis under the advisement of T.M. Scanlon, in which he argued for an alternative moral framework for justifying informed consent in clinical medicine.

Jennifer’s experience also includes healthcare revenue cycle process optimization and system implementation at Deloitte Consulting and Triage Consulting Group, as well as pharmaceutical reimbursement strategy and operations at Millennium Pharmaceuticals.

Prior to Akamai, Matt was a founder at SOASTA, which was acquired by Akamai in 2017.

Steven Duque is Chief Growth Officer at Pearl Health. He was previously Vice President of Marketing at Catalant Technologies, where he partnered with cross-functional company leaders to design and execute Catalant’s go-to-market strategy and messaging, build brand awareness through thought leadership and category creation, and enable sales teams and product-led growth to efficiently generate more than 40% year-over-year revenue growth during his tenure. Prior to Catalant, Steven served as Vice President of Product and Marketing at Happie, in addition to serving in various marketing, sales, and evangelism leadership roles at Intuit and Bullhorn, among others.

Jonathan E. Goldin serves as Pearl’s General Counsel. He came to Pearl from a global consulting firm, where he was the Chief Operating Officer and General Counsel of its financial advisory business. Before working in-house, Jonathan practiced law at Wachtell, Lipton, Rosen & Katz. He focused on representing corporations, directors and officers in litigation relating to mergers and acquisitions, corporate governance, securities law issues, regulatory inquiries and other complex civil matters. Jonathan began his legal career as a law clerk, first in the U.S. District Court for the Southern District of New York and then in the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Second Circuit.
Jonathan is active in professional organizations, such as the New York City Bar Association and the Association of Corporate Counsel. His public service has included membership on the New York City Water Board (and its Joint Audit Committee with the New York City Water Finance Authority), the Commercial Division Advisory Council of the New York Court System, the New York Chief Judge’s Committee on Non-Lawyers and the Justice Gap and the Pro Bono Advisory Committee of the New York Lawyers for the Public Interest.

Dr. Berg is Pearl’s Executive Vice President of Clinical Strategy. Cameron received his BA from Pomona College, his MD with honors from The George Washington University School of Medicine, and then completed specialty training in Emergency Medicine at Stanford. He worked as an emergency physician while developing an interest in population health, and cultivated a passion for disambiguating complicated workflows.
Cameron suffered major injuries in 2020, when he was hit by a car while bicycling to work; the resulting traumatic brain injury prevented him from returning to clinical work, and his personal experiences with healthcare reinforced his commitment to physician/patient-centered care.

Joe is the Executive Vice President, Finance and Strategy at Pearl Health. Prior to joining Pearl, Joe had been a portfolio manager for the Public Sector Pension Investment Board of Canada, before co-founding Black Diamond Asset Management, a mutual and hedge fund manager. Joe continues to serve as an advisor of Black Diamond and as a director of Metafix Inc., an engineering firm in the industrial wastewater sector, where he had previously been Chief Financial Officer.
Joe serves on the board of Tomorrow’s Voices, an autism early intervention center located in Bermuda, as well as on committees and boards of various alumni and public-benefits oriented organizations.

Patrick learned the craft of statistical analysis and distributed computing while working as a high-frequency trader at Hudson River Trading, where he led a team trading US and European equities. Thereafter, Patrick has consulted in a variety of industries, from entertainment to food rescue to biomedical engineering. He is passionate about performing sophisticated analyses of complex data sets in order to deliver actionable business insights and architect advanced computing systems. When not combing over data, Patrick also works as a mountain guide, where he delves into a far less quantitative but far more tangible world of risk analysis.

While at Bain, Ciara also led / worked on a number of pro-bono strategy projects with social enterprises and charities across Kenya, India, and the UK.
Following this, Ciara worked as an Investment Associate for an Irish impact investing fund, VentureWave, and she co-founded a climate-tech start-up.

Her expertise includes leveraging claims data and electronic health records to deliver insights to improve health care delivery.

Prior to that, he helped scale international student recruitment operations at ISRC, an educational startup, by building the tools used by recruiters to streamline their workflow, improve student retention, and accommodate student growth.

NeoHealth has won numerous grants and awards including 3rd place at the Michigan Business Challenge and 1st place at the China Business Challenge. Sujai also started a student organization called MedLaunch which designs assistive technology for individuals with disabilities. MedLaunch has expanded to two colleges and created 10+ technologies to assist various community partners.

Prior to this, Sybil served as a field operations leader with Aledade where she led a team of transformation experts who empowered primary care providers and systems to adopt new tools, technology and operational changes in the ACO’s risk-arrangements, primarily MSSP.

Personally, Nick is passionate about emerging technologies, entrepreneurship, music, and investing. Gillian Christie has focused her career on promoting health at the intersection of business and technology. She is currently at Pearl Health, focused on strengthening primary health through value-based models. She is also an Adjunct Lecturer in Health Policy and Management at the Harvard T.H. Gillian was previously with Circulo Health, an early-stage start-up focused on value-based primary care. She has also worked at Walmart Health on their healthcare strategy and partnerships. Gillian has advised several leading institutions, such as Intermountain Healthcare, the Robert Wood Johnson Foundation, and the Bloomberg-Harvard City Leadership Initiative. Before that, she worked at the Vitality Institute (part of the South African insurer, Discovery) in New York City.

Kara serves as the Senior Corporate Counsel at Pearl Health. Prior to Pearl, she worked at Amazon as a Corporate Counsel supporting Amazon Clinic, a direct-to-consumer telehealth service. Before Amazon, Kara practiced as the sole in-house healthcare and FDA regulatory counsel for Capital One’s Commercial Bank, where she developed extensive experience advising on a broad range of transactions spanning the healthcare and life sciences industrial spectrum, including commercial lending matters involving healthcare service providers, hospitals and health systems, healthcare IT companies, and pharmaceutical and medical device companies.
Prior to going in-house, Kara worked in Gibson Dunn & Crutcher’s D.C. office. In this capacity, she focused her practice on white collar investigations and litigation and advised healthcare providers and life sciences companies on a broad range of regulatory and compliance matters, including False Claims Act, Federal Trade Commission, and Foreign Corrupt Practices Act investigations, as well as qui tam and commercial litigation matters.

At athena, she led the rollout of “login with athenahealth” credential for patients across the athena network and numerous patient and clinician-facing app integrations, including Apple Health and several Payor integrations. Prior to her MBA, she led Product for an early-stage fintech company.

Ryan comes to Pearl Health with over 15 years of technical leadership experience. Prior to Pearl, Ryan managed multiple teams at Amazon, including the Alexa Healthcare team responsible for enabling Alexa to conduct Telehealth visits, and a non-healthcare team responsible for building a grocery warehouse management system from the ground up. Before Amazon, Ryan worked at Vulcan, a tech-for-good organization started by the late Microsoft co-founder Paul Allen. At Vulcan, Ryan’s team launched an infectious disease surveillance system for refugee camps in Africa, and supported an initiative to identify illegal timber at ports of entry. Before Vulcan, Ryan provided tech leadership for Valant, a healthcare tech startup that created a highly configurable electronic medical record system for Medicaid funded hospitals and organizations focused on mental health. Ryan also worked as a Sr. Software Architect and engineering leader at StudyManager, a startup which created a first of class clinical trial management system that was widely used by universities and research organizations around the world. Ryan studied Health Informatics at UC Davis, and distributed system and application development at the University of Washington.

Prior to Oscar, Li was an early employee at Clover Health, where he developed the internal SQL/Python based MA pricing model and came to own many aspects of MA pricing. Prior to his roles in healthcare, Zeeshawn was a tennis professional at The Greenbrier and Cincinnati Tennis Club. Medicine and healthcare were always in the family for Zeeshawn. His father is a vascular surgeon, and his brother is a sports medicine physician. Suzanne brings over 15 years of experience working at the intersection of social science and design, with a particular passion for mission-driven initiatives that can affect systemic change and have a meaningful impact on people’s health, well-being, satisfaction, and overall quality of life. Her work experience extends into the evidence-based design of healthcare environments, the strategic planning of educational facilities to support 21st-century learning, and the design of accessible consumer products that consider people’s differing abilities and life stages.

During his tenure with Tabula Rasa, Brian continued to expand the Company’s payer market through the design, testing, validation, and deployment of new products, services, and financial models (including chronic disease programs and the deployment of value-based contracting
solutions). Brian also worked to lay foundations for the Company across new markets, including pharma/life sciences, life insurance, consumer, and international.
Brian presently serves as the Chair of the Board of Advisors of StationMD, a telehealth company serving persons with intellectual and developmental disabilities (where he was previously the first independent director on the corporate board). He also serves as a member on the Board of Advisors to Pearl Health, a leader in assisting primary care practices understand and accept “intelligent” financial risk arrangements.
Brian is a member of the Board of Directors of CP Unlimited (Formerly Cerebral Palsy
Association of New York State), a leading provider of residential and day programs for people with intellectual and developmental disabilities. CP Unlimited has close to 2,000 employees supporting more than 700 persons in residences and many hundreds more through its day programs.
Brian spent his earlier professional years leading the successful startup and exit of an oncology-focused medication decision support technology company. He has also held strategy-related management positions with two large Blue Cross organizations and, before that, as a senior administration official in government.
As an expert in healthcare strategy, growth, and policy, the Jefferson School of Population Health elected Brian as a Senior Fellow. He also served as the longest tenured Chair of the New Jersey Association of Health Plans. Over his career, government leaders, from governors to members of Congress, have appointed Brian to serve on federal and state healthcare access and reform commissions.
Brian earned a JD from Rutgers University School of Law and a BA in Economics from Vassar College.

Prior to launching Floating Point, John was Chief Risk Officer and a member of the founding team at Oscar Health. As one of the two longest-serving C-level executives of the firm, he helped lead Oscar from inception to nearly 500,000 members and over two billion dollars in annual revenue.
John began his career as a quantitative researcher at Bridgewater Associates, where he was one of fewer than 20 investment professionals responsible for developing the firm’s core macroeconomic trading models. Cole Morris is a health tech entrepreneur building life-changing devices at Clear, where he is a co-founder, COO and CFO.
He was previously Vice President of Data at Oscar Health Insurance. There, he led a team of more than 30 data scientists spanning medical economics, product analytics, payment integrity, clinical data science, and business and network analytics. Prior to leading Oscar’s data efforts, he was Director of Care Routing at Oscar, focused on bending the cost curve by better matching Oscar members to high value doctors.
Before venturing into healthcare, Cole was an Investment Team Lead at Bridgewater Associates, where he led a team of Investment Associates providing analytics to some of Bridgewater’s largest clients and wrote investment algorithms in the Research department.
Cole graduated from the Woodrow Wilson School of Public and International Affairs at Princeton University, summa cum laude and phi beta kappa.

Prior to a16z, Jay worked at Flatiron Health (acquired by Roche). He went on to develop numerous commercial partnerships with large biopharma companies, smaller biotechs, and other research organizations.
Previously, Jay advised large healthcare and technology organizations on corporate growth initiatives at Deloitte and supported various go-to-market, product, and fundraising efforts at DealerMatch (acquired by Cox Enterprises).

Lauren is the Chief Operating Officer of Kirkoswald Asset Management, a global macro hedge fund with a focus on emerging markets. She leads Kirkoswald’s strategic business initiatives to ensure that best in class practices are implemented for the global team. As part of this role, she has oversight of the marketing strategy, human capital, compliance, public relations, information technology and cybersecurity. Previously, Lauren was an Executive Director at UBS Investment Bank where she spent 12 years in a variety of roles within the Equities division in both NYC and London.
Lauren earned her MBA from Columbia Business School in 2015 as a Feldberg Fellow and she graduated from Princeton University in 2007 with a degree in Operations Research and Financial Engineering.
She enjoys volunteering for all three of her alma maters in a variety of capacities: fundraising, interviewing prospective students, organizing career and social gatherings, mentoring students and recent graduates, and fostering engagement across generations and geographies. Lauren also serves on the Board of Inspiring Girls USA, an organization that connects girls with women role models to introduce them to the full variety of careers and options in life.
